THE BEATHERDER FESTIVAL

LATEST NEWS: ANDREW TO PERFORM AT 9pm ON SATURDAY 04th JULY 2009!!! DON'T MISS THE SHOW!!!! Picture it... July 2007... I was asked to sing at the Beatherder Festival, advertised as "3 days of beats and barminess". And it was. It was truly fantastic. I sang in the Beatherder & District Working Men's and Social Club, (a marquee decorated in the retro style of a northern social club) with a swing tribute to the 1950's era of cabaret. I loved every second.... So, when I was asked to return in 2008 with a brand new show, how could I resist? The show again was a tribute to the swing era... but this year, it had a seasonal twist... Christmas in July!?! From the Beatherder website: "Andrew Barry offers a different style of music to the Beatherder Festival, taking you back to the Cabaret heyday nights of the 1950's and 60's. Swing, Teen Idols & Jukeboxes unite in a sing-along, sway-along, tap-along journey! Andrew is a professional vocalist who has performed at Hotels and Theatres, and onboard Cruise Ships with some of the cabaret greats.... So, grab your packet of Peanuts and glass of Babysham, and step back in time!"

Last year, the event was held for 3 days between the 4th and 6th July, near Gisburn in the Ribble Valley. With a crowd of 5000 people, this year's festival was the biggest yet, and consisted of 7 stages across the compound, numerous events, acts, and specialities.
